Process

A deliberate, transparent engagement.

We move slowly on purpose. By the time you have a portfolio at Brevard, you have already received a written plan, a fee schedule, and a clear answer to whether we are the right fit.

Five steps

What it looks like from first conversation to ongoing partnership.

  1. Step 1

    Discovery conversation

A complimentary 45-minute meeting to understand your goals, your current picture, and whether we are the right fit. No pitch, no pressure.

We ask about what you are trying to accomplish, what is keeping you up at night, and what you have already tried. We listen more than we talk. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better. There is no obligation on either side.

    45 minutes
Honest assessment of fit and next steps
  2. Step 2

    Data gathering and analysis

We collect statements, tax returns, estate documents, and benefits packages and produce a written analysis of your current trajectory.

We use a secure client portal to collect what we need. Most clients find the process reveals gaps or opportunities they were not aware of, particularly in beneficiary designations, insurance coverage, and tax-deferred account structure.

    One to two weeks
Written current-state analysis and gap identification
  3. Step 3

    Plan delivery

We present a written financial plan with specific recommendations, alternatives, and the trade-offs of each. You leave with a clear set of decisions to make.

The plan is a real document, not a slide deck. It addresses your retirement picture, your investment strategy, your tax situation, and your estate. Each recommendation comes with a rationale and, where relevant, the alternative we considered and why we did not recommend it.

  4. Step 4

    Implementation

If you choose to work with us, we open accounts at Charles Schwab as our custodian, transition assets tax-efficiently, and put the plan in motion.

We handle the paperwork, the transfers, and the coordination with your employer if a rollover is involved. Tax efficiency guides the transition: we build the ending portfolio in a sequence that minimizes recognition of gains wherever possible.

    Two to four weeks
Funded accounts, investment policy statement, transition report
  5. Step 5

    Ongoing stewardship

Quarterly portfolio reviews, an annual planning meeting, and unlimited access to your advisor between meetings. The plan evolves with your life.

Life does not stay still, and neither does the plan. Job changes, inheritances, births, divorces, business events: we are at the table for all of it. You will hear from us proactively when something in the tax code or the market warrants a conversation. You will never feel like an account number.
