House & grounds
The hotel is built around three shared spaces: a sun-filled conservatory for breakfast, a working library with an honor bar, and a private brick garden courtyard that becomes the center of things in summer.

Pastries from Talbott & Arding, eggs from the Glynwood farm, and Anchorhead coffee, served 7am to 10am daily. Included with every stay.
A small library with a working fireplace and an honor bar of Hudson Valley spirits, wines by the glass, and Six Point beer. Open until 1am.
A quiet brick courtyard with lavender beds, a reflecting pool, and seating for twelve. Open to guests until 11pm, by reservation for events.
Eight Linus city bikes available on a first-come basis, with maps to the rail trail, Olana, and the riverfront.
Four rooms accept dogs up to 60 pounds. We provide a bed, bowls, and a treat from Hudson Hound on arrival.
In-room massage and facials from a small bench of independent practitioners, by appointment 24 hours in advance.
In the press
“A jewel-box hotel that has quietly redrawn the map of Hudson Valley travel.”
“Eighteen rooms of careful restraint, where the design never shouts and the service never blinks.”
“One of the ten new American hotels worth flying for.”
“Chef Beltran's farm-to-table cooking is as serious as anything south of Stone Barns.”
From the guest book
“We have stayed at the Halden four times in two years. The staff remembers our coffee order, our dog's name, and the corner table we like at dinner. It is the closest thing to a country club we will ever afford.”
Anna & Patrick H.

“We came for one night and stayed three. The Hudson Suite is the most beautiful hotel room I have ever slept in.”
Cynthia W.
Toronto, ON
“Chef Beltran sent a plate of devilled eggs to the table 'because the chickens were showing off this morning.' That is the Halden in one sentence.”
